The former couple announced their separation in January 2022, but documents reveal they had actually been separated for nearly a year and a half longer, with the official date of separation listed as October 7, 2020.
They initiated their relationship in 2005, and despite rumors suggesting they married a few years later, they formalized their union in October 2017.
Jason and Lisa, who are officially filing for divorce two years after announcing their separation, have two children together: 16-year-old daughter Lola Iolani and 15-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf. Lisa is seeking joint custody with no spousal support from either side. Additionally, she is a mother to actress Zoë Kravitz from her previous marriage to Lenny Kravitz.
Both parties currently remain largely unattached, with Jason recently being linked to actress Eiza González, whom he dated from February to June 2022.
Almost exactly two years ago, Lisa shared in a joint statement announcing their separation, “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding, and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring.”
Despite their separation, the former couple has maintained a close relationship, frequently expressing mutual respect and support. Jason attended The Batman premiere in 2022 to support Zoë with their two children, emphasizing that it’s still a family despite the changes.
The pair first met in 2005 at a jazz club, and Jason revealed he had a crush on Lisa since he saw her on The Cosby Show when he was 8 years old. He humorously noted, “Ever since I was 8 years old – I saw her on TV and I was like, ‘Mommy, I want that one.'”
