Despite dominating possession at the Amex Stadium, Brighton extended their unbeaten home run to a club-record nine top-flight fixtures, securing the seventh position, surpassing Manchester United on goal difference.

However, the Seagulls, lacking a cutting edge in Monday’s evening fixture, have drawn five of these matches, marking a league-high eight draws overall.

De Zerbi, acknowledging a lengthy injury list and European commitments, believes these factors are affecting Brighton’s performance in the league.

“We have to understand the situation of injuries, we have to understand how much energy we spent in the Europa League, in FA Cup, we have to analyze if we will be lucky or unlucky,” said the Italian manager, referring to their previous 0-0 draw with West Ham.
